State anti-poverty program beneficiaries urged to use subsidy wisely

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Mayor Oscar Rodriguez told hundreds of beneficiaries gathered at the Heroes Hall recently for the launching of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or PPPP to use the benefits wisely.
“My dream is for you to become excellent, brilliant, educated and successful Fernandinos by the help of PPPP,” Rodriguez said.
“The program should be used properly and not be used in gambling, paying house bills, paying debts and other personal purposes,” he said during the forum.
Fritzie Joyce Cunanan of the Department of Social Welfare and Development discussed the two conditions of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, which include regular check-ups of children aged 0-5 years old and regular (at least 85 percent per school year) attendance of the children in their schools.
The program aims to uplift the Fernandinos’ lives from poorest of the poor to middle class standard of living in the society.
Beneficiaries of the program expressed their gratitude to the city mayor and to DSWD for giving them opportunities embodied in the PPPP.
