Woman arrested for illegal gambling

TARLAC — A 22-year-old woman was arrested by police authorities here for violation of the anti-illegal gambling law in Barangay Paraiso in this province.
Police identified the suspect as Kristina Cristobal Santos, married and resident in the said area.
Joint elements of the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB), Provincial Public Safety Company (PPSC) and CIDT led by PO3 Arnel Cruz, under the supervision of Supt. Bayani Razalan, OIC, PIB, conducted an operation against illegal gambling (sakla) in the said area, which resulted to the arrest of Santos.
According to a police report, Santos was arrested while in the act of playing illegal games in the area.
Confiscated from her possession were gambling paraphernalia and bet money amounting to P224 in different denominations.
Santos and the confiscated evidence were taken to the Office of the Provincial Intelligence Branch for documentation and proper disposition.
A case for violation of Presidential Decree 1602 was filed against Santos at the Prosecutor’s Office.
