Trade department bags excellence seal

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Central Luzon was awarded the Client Satisfaction Seal of Excellence Award by the Civil Service Commission (CSC).
The awarding was held at the Board of Investments in Makati City last April 18.
DTI Secretary Gregory L. Domingo and CSC Chairman Francisco T. Duque III attended the occasion together with other CSC and DTI officials.
CSC Chairman Duque said the Citizen’s Service Center Seal of Excellence aims to promote prompt, excellent, honest and courteous frontline service in government.
This is given to government agencies that have obtained the highest ratings in the report card survey conducted by the CSC as required by law specifically the Anti Red Tape Act of 2007 (RA 9485).
He said that a survey was done by CSC representatives equipped with a questionnaire and an inspection checklist, interviewing clients who finished their transactions with DTI.
The surveyor checks compliance to the basic requirements of the ARTA provisions, Frontline service provider, Service Quality, Physical Working condition and overall satisfaction, which are openly expressed in the posted agency citizen’s charter, the implementation of an anti-fixers measure, a help desk, and the observance of the “no lunch break policy” in its frontline services.
DTI based on its compliance to requirements in the Report Card Survey (both the checklist and the feedback gathered in the client interviews), has achieved a final weighted grade of 95.08.
According to Duque, this is so far the highest rating given to a government agency. He projects that the other regions will emulate the region.
