Villagers’ role in drive vs lawless groups cited

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Pampanga Police Regional Director Edgardo Tinio recognized Tuesday the role of village officials in the success of the police operations against lawless elements for the first quarter of this year.
Tinio said they were able to neutralize several lawless groups in various towns in the province with the timely information provided by the residents.
He claimed that the more than eleven incidents have been prevented with the timely intervention of the local police upon information given by the people.
These include high profile groups victimizing banks, pawnshops and other establishments in the business central district in the province.
Tinio narrated one incident in Arayat town, wherein a group of individuals rented an apartment owned by a local doctor. They gave advance payment of rents so that the owner will not think of any irregularity.
However, the said individuals were not appearing in the apartment.
With this, the owner using a duplicate key entered the apartment, which led to the discovery of a hole inside on it including tools commonly used by the “DagaDaga” gang.
The police chief also cited the recent botched hold up in a burger shop in Sta. Ana town.
