Lawmaker: Pamintuan deserves World Mayor Award

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — First District Representative Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin emphasized over the weekend that Angeles City Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan deserves to be a world-class city mayor.
Pamintuan was recently been nominated to the 2012 World Mayor Awards slated this December. Lazatin, meanwhile, was ranked 6th in the 2006 World Mayor Awards when he was the mayor of Angeles City. With him during that year in the roster of best world mayors was Makati mayor and now Vice President Jejomar Binay.
“He [Pamintuan] deserves to be in the World Mayor Awards. You can just imagine his accomplishments with barely two years in office. He has done so much for Angeles City and continues to do more. I am proud of him,” Lazatin told Sun.Star Pampanga during the Friday interview at his office.
The Pampanga Mayors’ League shared the same hopes as they congratulated Pamintuan on his nomination.
PML president and Candaba Mayor Jerry Pelayo, after the launching of the Anak ning Candaba party last Saturday, said: “Oh, yes! Congratulations to our fellow mayor. In behalf of the PML, we rejoice at his nomination in the World Mayor Awards. Kapampangan iyan, eh! Saludo kami sa PML sa kanya and congratulations!”
