PDP-Laban starts countrywide sorties

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – With barely a year before the mid-term elections, former congressman Jose “Peping” S. Cojuangco’s PDP-Laban has been moving all over the country to rally its members and supporters, a reliable source
said.
Cojuangco is the uncle of President Benigno C. Aquino III.
The source said Cojuangco and other party stalwarts are scheduled to fly to Negros Oriental on May 26 to 28, as part of the country-wide pre-election sorties which have reportedly produced positive results.
“The response to the party’s call has been tremendously encouraging,” the source said.
Last May 25, Cojuangco, PDP-Laban secretary general, administered the oath of office to party members and supporters, among them Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and Congresswoman Mitos Magsaysay of Zambales, in the presence of Vice President and PDP-Laban Chairman Jejomar Binay and other top officials.
Both Garcia and Magsaysay have signified their intent to run for the Senate in 2013.
