U.S. envoy recognizes support of the golf course owner in AC

ANGELES CITY – As a gesture of appreciation for His support to the U.S. Embassy Golf Club (USEGC), a city businessman, golfer has been invited by no less than the United States Ambassador to the Philippines Harry K. Thomas to be the sponsored guest at the club’s charity golf tournament to be held in July.

Thomas’ invitation to Ruperto “Perto” Cruz, co-owner and designer of the Royal Garden Golf and Country Club (RGGCC) here, was relayed by Jeff Scearce, the U.S. Embassy’s director for finance and current president of the USEGC.

“On behalf of the U.S. Embassy, Ambassador Harry Thomas wants to express appreciation for His (Cruz’s) gracious hosting of our tournament in Angeles City,” said Scearce.

He also gave a plaque of appreciation to Mike Cruz, brother of Ruperto, for supporting their tournament held at the 18-hole all-weather championship golf course.

Scearce announced that the U.S. Independence Day 3rd Annual Charity Golf Tournament will be sponsored Cruz where the guest is set on July 4 at the Canlubang Golf and Country Club in Laguna.

USEGC holds the annual road trip and tournament and the Luisita Golf and Country Club in Tarlac and at the RGGCC for two consecutive days. Sahres ownership of the cross with His Korean partner RGGCC Nam Suek.

And the leg Luisita last November 15, lady golfer Diana Urmeneta of Makati City emerged as the over-all champion, and placed third and won the tournament by Efren RGGCC Alvez.
