Village execs to undergo disaster management training

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Pampanga Police Public Safety Company will spearhead a basic disaster management training of village officials, including watchmen here this August.

Superintendent Bernard Perez, public safety company chief, told Sun.Star Pampanga that the training on basic relief operation, including water search and rescue is usually being held at Clark and Subic.

Perez and his group earlier attended a five-day training to equip themselves with the rescue skills.

Police Provincial Director Edgardo Tinio said the training was sponsored by Governor Lilia Pineda to further bolster the campaign on “zero casualty” during calamities.

Pineda told village officials to prepare for rigid rescue training in order to promote the safety of their constituents, whenever there is an emergency situation, especially this rainy season. Villages in low-lying towns will be given priority for the training.

Each village will be required to send at least five representatives who are physically and emotionally fit and ready to provide assistance during calamities.
