Cebu pilot laid to rest

CEBU CITY (Updated 5:10 p.m.) — Aviatour Fly’N Inc. owner Captain Jessup Bahinting, who died in a plane crash in Masbate last week, was laid to rest in a private cemetery in Ginatilan town in southwestern Cebu on Monday.

Relatives, friends and colleagues of Bahinting, as well as members of the Grace Communion International (GCI) attended the burial.
GCI is a Christian group where Bahinting was a pastor and supervisor for the Visayas.
Bahinting, 60, was brought to Ginatilan on Sunday after a three-day wake at St. Peter Memorial Chapel in Cebu City.
His body arrived in Cebu five days after his Piper Seneca plane crashed in the waters off Masbate Bay. Also killed in the accident were Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo and Nepalese co-pilot Kshitiz Chand.
The remains of the 21-year-old Chand was also flown to his home country Nepal on Sunday for cremation, while Robredo’s body now lies in state in his hometown Naga City. The DILG secretary will be buried tomorrow, Tuesday. (Sunnex)
