Ex-mayor unfazed in 2013 congressional race
FORMER Angeles City Mayor Francis Nepomuceno said on Monday he is unfazed by his would-be opponents in the 2013 election, as he once again would bid for the first district congressional post.
In an interview with Sun.Star Pampanga during the visit of Vice President Jejomar Binay at Pag-Ibig (City of San Fernando Branch), Nepomuceno confirmed he is gunning for the post he once held years ago and is ready to slug it out with other strong contenders like Vice Governor Joseller Guiao.

“Definitely, I am running for Congress in 2013. I have made up my mind and I am not backing out. I am not bothered at all by other contenders because like them, I have plans of a high-level campaign. I know they are backed up by big supporters but we have our mass base of loyal supporters, too,” he said.
Nepomuceno added that he would be running under the banner of the National People’s Coalition, being one of its original stalwarts.
“There is also this move of a coalition with the Liberal Party and UNA (United Nationalist Alliance). Thus, the LP, I believe, will not be fielding any bet in the first district congressional race next year. That would be finalized this coming September,” he said.
