DOLE, Lubao mayor distribute ‘negocarts’

LUBAO, Pampanga—The local government unit here, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment 3, on Thursday distributed some 33 negocarts to deserving beneficiaries in this town.
In an interview, Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab said the 33 negocarts awarded to selected beneficiaries here were sponsored by DOLE 3 with counterparts from this town’s local government unit.
Cayabyab said beneficiaries will receive one negocart each, which costs P15,000 and cooking utensils given by the LGU.
The 30 negocarts were donated by DoLE 3 and the other three were personally financed by Cayabyab.
The mayor also thanked DOLE-3 for their unending support to the local government unit specifically in helping the unemployed.
Pinapasalamatan po natin ang DOLE 3 sa lahat ng tulong at suportang binibigay nila sa atin. Makakaasa po kayo sa aming suporta at koordinasyon sa lahat ng inyong mga proyekto dito,” Cayabyab added.
DOLE 3 assistant regional director Geraldine Panlilio, meanwhile said the negocarts project aims to help ambulant vendors, unemployed or disadvantaged workers by giving them livelihood that will give them income at par with minimum wage earners.
“Sana nanu man pu ing pagkatiwala mi kekayu maging maragul pu sana saup keng pamilyu ing malating negosyung ayni. Asahan mi pu na magsipag at magpursige kayu pa para mapalagu ing negosyung ini (We hope that whatever was given to you could be of help to your families. We expect you to work hard to make your business grow),” Panlilio added
Last year, 40 negocarts were also distributed to selected recipients here.
