1 dead in Olongapo City road mishap

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga–One person died when the motorcycle he was riding collided with an armored van then ran over by a jeep along the National Highway in Olongapo City on Wednesday.
A report submitted to Chief Supt. Edgardo Ladao, Central Luzon police regional director, identified the victim as Albert Tuazon, 28, and resident of 75 Jones st. New Kalalake, Olongapo City.
Police said Tuazon was traveling on his Honda XRM Motorcycle along the National Highway heading the city proper of Olongapo City when he encroached the opposite lane in a sharp curve and then collided with the armored van driven by Melmar Alqueza, 34, and resident Tabacuhan, Sta Rita, Olongapo City, at about 8:45 a.m.
After the collision, the victim fell off his motorcycle to the pavement, police investigator said.
A passing jeepney driven, by Reynaldo Delos Reyes, 63, of 21th West Bajac Bajac, Olongapo City, also coming from the opposite direction ran over Tuazon.
Police said the victim was rushed to the James L. Gordon Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Also, the drivers of the van and jeepney, with their respective vehicles, are now under the custody of the Olongapo City Police Office for proper disposition. ● Froilan E. Magtoto
