Blue Eagle, Fil-Chi group donate 8 classrooms to Pampanga towns

APALIT, Pampanga – The Blue Eagle Foundation, Incorporated, headed by Lirius Quezon, in coordination with the San Fernando Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Incorporated (SFFCCII), led by its President Eddie Chua, turned-over eight classrooms under their “Barrio School Program” to the local government units of San Simon and this town.
The turn-over was witnessed by Governor Lilia G. Pineda, Board Members Nestor Tolentino and Fritzie David-Dizon last week.
Chua said the SFFCCII and the Blue Eagle Foundation had initiated the construction of two classrooms in San Vicente Central Elementary School in this town and four classrooms in Sto. Niño Elementary School and two classrooms in San Agustin Elementary School, both in San Simon town.
Chua bared the two classrooms in San Vicente Central Elementary School here were funded by the Blue Eagle foundation.
Quezon said the Blue Eagles’ fund for the two classrooms came from the proceeds of the 3rd Charity Golf Tournament, which was supported by the municipal and provincial government.
“We have only P300,000 and we do not have the resources and manpower to construct the two classrooms, hence, I coordinated with the officials of the Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce to make this project realized. So, I thanked the Filipino–Chinese led by President Chua,” Quezon stressed.
Quezon disclosed that their first plan is to build a computer laboratory, however, upon inspection, they have observed that a state of the art computer laboratory is already existing.
Hence, she furthered, they have changed their plan to build two new classrooms for the school as suggested by the principal.
Pineda and Mayor Oscar Tetangco, Jr. had expressed their gratitude to SFFCCI and Blue Eagle Alumni Foundation Inc. for choosing Pampanga as recipient of the “Barrio School Program”.
Tetangco said the classrooms in San Vicente are being used for dual purpose—classrooms for the students and evacuation centers for the families affected by floods during calamities as this school is not prone to perennial flooding.
Elizer Dimarucut, newly installed principal IV here, has lauded the benevolence of the donor and the provincial officials as he added that these classrooms will become the foundation of good education and better future of the school children. •–Elaine Mercado
