SEZ Financial & School Supplies Assistance to High School, Elem. Pupils

Subic EnerZone Corporation (SEZ) turned over financial assistance to its high school scholars in a ceremony at the SEZ administration building, July 24.
SEZ AVP & GM Warell Sario led the distribution of financial assistance to 29 high school students from Regional Science High School III (20), Olongapo City National High School (8), and Gordon Heights High School (1).
“We hope to continue to have all of you in our program as you all continue to do well in your studies,” Sario encouraged the scholars during his message.
Regional Science High School ICT Coordinator Miguel Esporas thanked the company in behalf of the students.
This is the third year of SEZ’s high school scholarship program, which started in 2010. SEZ selects 10 first year high school students every year to be a part of their scholarship program.
A screening process is done for applicants with the following criteria: 1) should be an honor student graduate of a public elementary school; 2) should have a general average of 90%; 3) should not have a grade below 88% in the fourth grading period; and 4) should be enrolled in public high school. A scholar must maintain an 85% grade average as a freshman, 86% as a sophomore, 87% as a junior, and 88% as a senior to be retained in the program.
Meanwhile, Subic EnerZone Corporation (SEZ), in cooperation with the Aboitiz Foundation, conducted two School Supplies-Giving activities at the Olongapo City Elementary School (OCES) and Kalalake Elementary School (KES) in Olongapo City last July 4 and 5 respectively. OCES is the company’s AGAPP school building beneficiary this year while KES was last year’s recipient.
A total of 450 pre-school pupils (200 from OCES and 250 from KES) received school supplies contained in a customized SEZ backpack.
OCES Principal Consuelo Suguitan thanked the company during the July 4 turnover program saying “we are very thankful for all the assistance Subic EnerZone is giving to our school.”
Meanwhile, the day after, KES Principal Anelita Dela Torre also thanked SEZ for its continuing support to the school, sighting the company’s long-term partnership with KES as “an enduring blessing for the pupils.” SVP & COO Dante Pollescas and AVP & General Manager Warell Kern Sario led the SEZ delegation during the two days of activity.
“We are very happy and humbled to have this opportunity to be of assistance to these pre-school pupils,” Sario said during his separate messages to both schools.
