Hiniling ng kampo ni dating Pangulo at ngayo’y Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo sa Sandiganbayan na payagan siyang makalabas ng Veteran’s Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) upang makasama ang kanyang pamilya sa Lubao, Pampanga sa pagdiwang ng Pasko at Bagong Taon mula Disyembre 21, 2012 hanggang Enero 7, 2013.

Sa isang 7-pahinang mosyon na inihain sa Sandiganbayan First Division, sinabi ng isa sa mga abogado ni Ginang Arroyo na si Maria Z. Rosario: “In keeping with the spirit of joy, hope, peace, love and goodwill during the Yuletide season and in observance of the revered tradition of togetherness, oneness and unity of the Filipino family during the nativity of the Lord Jesus Christ, accused GMA respectfully pleads that this Honorable Court grant her leave from 21 December 2012 to 7 January 2013, to celebrate Christmas and New Year with her family and relatives in Lubao, Pampanga, many of whom she has not seen in the past 18 months.”
Sinabi pa ni Rosario na dapat payagan ng korte si Arroyo na ipagdiwang ang panahon ng Pasko sa Lubao, Pampanga kung saan siya ay aalagaan ng mga physical therapist sa Romana Pangan District Hospital sa Floridablanca o sa Diosdado Macapagal Provincial Hospital sa Guagua, Pampanga.
Ayon pa kay Rosario, sakaling payagan siya ng korte, handa ang Philippine National Police (PNP) Security and Protection Group (PSPG) na magbigay ng mga escort at seguridad sa pagtungo at pagbalik ni GMA sa Lubao.
Subalit sinabi ng PSPG na dapat na ipaalam sa ahensiya ang hiling ni GMA isang linggo bago ang itinakdang araw ng kanyang paglabas sa VMMC upang maihanda nila ang kaukulang seguridad para sa dating Pangulo.
Ipinaalam din ng kampo ni GMA sa korte na ang natitira lamang sa VMMC tuwing Pasko ay isang skeletal force at inabisuhan na rin siya ng mga opisyal ng ospital na wala ring therapist na nakaduty simula Disyembre 20, 2012 hanggang Enero 6, 2013.
