1 killed, another wounded in Bulacan shooting

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga–A special child died while another was injured after a backhoe operator shot them in Marilao, Bulacan recently.
Police identified the fatality as Katrina Ellane Olino, 14, of 4 Daang Bakal, Barangay Saog, Marilao, Bulacan while the injured was Maria Judith Guinto, 30, of the same address.
The suspect was identified as Jonathan Amasan, 33, single, a native of Negros Occidental and a resident of Summer Set Apartment, Mahabang Parang, Sta Maria, Bulacan.
According to police investigation, before the incident, Amasan had a heated argument with the parents of the injured victim, Lauro and Rosario Guinto, about his affair with Maria Judith.
Then, suddenly, Amasan shot the victims hitting the special child on the chest and back part of the body while Maria Judith sustained injuries on her left arm and right leg.
Both victims were rushed to the hospital by relatives but the child was pronounced dead on arrival. Maria Judith was still recuperating in the same hospital.
Amasan was later arrested by responding policemen.
Police said the suspect will be charged with murder and frustrated murder.
The suspect is now under the custody of the Marilao Police office and he will be also charged with illegal possession of firearms, police said. ●
