EdPam faces libel charges
BARANGAY officials of Angeles City have denied the libel charges filed against them by the camp of Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan.
Appearing before the Office of the City Prosecutor in April 11, barangay officials Roy Ogurida, William David, Nenita Ferrer, Renato Coronel, and Oliver Chaneco and flier distributors submitted their joint statement where they denied the libel charges filed against them by the complainants, Amro Rasul, Jaime Dizon, Jr., Lauriano Tiamson, and Alinader Ariong, all of whom are known as close in security of Pamintuan.
The supposed ‘black propaganda material’ are fliers containing the joint statement released by the five village officials where they asked the Pamintuan administration to explain the inclusion of the names of their relatives in the list of the City Government’s job order employees without their knowledge.
Last February 3, ten individuals, some of whom are minors, were arrested by City Traffic Aides in Barangay Balibago while distributing the joint statement of the five village officials. After which, they were brought to the Angeles City Entertainment Promotion Office where its director, known Pamintuan ally Jesse Eres, reportedly harassed and threatened them.
The ten individuals were identified as Roger Sumala, Jeffrey Sumala, Kimberly De Jesus, Kenneth Pineda, Yoshiko Canque, Princess Gopez, Kristina Arceo, John Michael Delusa, Nicole Ramos, and Paolo Sumala.
