Police recover stolen vehicle

ANGELES CITY — Elements of Angeles City Police Station 1 recovered Wednesday a van in Barangay Calibutbut, Bacolor town that was stolen at the business district of Barangay Santo Rosario on Monday.
Chief Inspector Rene Artazo Aspe, Police Station 1 commander, said they were able to recover the carnapped vehicle with the help of an informant.
Aspe said the informant spotted the white Starex van with license plates WSU 519 parked along the stretch of the Telabastagan Road in Barangay Calibutbut, Bacolor town.
Aspe said a team of cops headed by Inspector Filemon Oyan were sent to verify the report.
Upon reaching the place, the van sped off apparently after its occupants sensed the police vehicle approaching them.
Policemen were able to recover the stolen vehicle but failed to apprehend the suspects.
The police found out that the Starex Van was the same stolen vehicle owned by Rafael Mandani Lagman, 34, of Purok 7 Exportville Subdivision, Pulung Cacutud, Angeles City.
Lagman said he parked his vehicle along Plaridel Street in Barangay Santo Rosario on Monday before it was carnapped.
The recovered vehicle was taken to Camp Tomas J. Pepito, Angeles City Police Office for proper documentation. It was later turned-over to the owner.
Aspe said they are now conducting follow up investigation to identify and arrest the suspects.
