Pineda lauds Fil-Chi traders in Pampanga

CITY of San Fernando, Pampanga — Gov. Lilia G. Pineda lauded a group of Filipino-Chinese businessmen for their never-ending support to the province’s educational program by constructing more public schoolbuildings.

Pineda was very thankful after learning that the Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. led by Eddie Chua has constructed four more schoolbuildings in the towns of Arayat, Bacolor, Minalin and Macabebe.

Provincial Board Members Monina “Monz” Laus (3rd district) and Ricardo Yabut (4th district) also thanked Chua’s group, saying the new schoolbuildings will serve as the strong foundation of the provincial government in their commitment to public-private partnership.

Chua, president of San Fernando Filipino-Chinese of Commerce, said that province-wide, they have initiated the construction of over 200 classroom buildings benefitting thousands of schoolchildren.

“These include the four-newly inaugurated schoolbuildings in Guemasan Elementary School (Arayat), Cabalantian National High School (Bacolor), Sta. Maria Elementary School (Minalin) and Batasan Elementary School (Macabebe),” Chua said.

Chua said that his group believed they may achieve more success in life particularly in their businesses if they would share what they had to people and communities in need.

“Naniniwala kaming mga Tsinoy na higit na matatamo ang tagumpay kung matututong magbigay sa mga nangangailangan at sa komunidad,” Chua said.

Laus has expressed the heartfelt gratitude of the provincial government for the support of Filipino-Chinese businessmen in the province in providing quality education for the Kapampangans, given the fact that the government cannot sustain all the needs of public schools.

Yabut for his part said maintaining good relationship with private sector is pivotal in public service as it would send a strong message of good partnership in development like what the Filipino-Chinese did.

The head teachers of the four elementary schools also expressed their gratitude to FCCCII, saying this effort may respond to the problem of the Department of Education (DepEd) of lack of classrooms.

All over the country, Filipino-Chinese group has constructed 5,000 school- buildings for the benefit of poor children in public schools.
