Medical officers asked for better patient care

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Provincial Board Members Tarcicio DC Halili, Salvador Dimson Jr. and Crisostomo Garbo recently urged some 57 medical officers of government hospitals in the province to “improve services, address the concerns and work for better patient care.”
In a meeting at the Benigno Aquino Hall at the Capitol Compound, the medical officers convened as a prelude to the enactment of the proposed unified Provincial Health Act Code by the Committee on Health led by chairman Monina Laus.

But before the ordinance could be passed, Halili said “it was imperative that services at the frontlines beginning with medical officers should be enhanced.”
“Let us continue serving with a smile as we have started sometime ago. Not only would this help in reception, but it would also lead to patients getting better. At least, smiling at the very onset would prevent iyung possibility na matuluyan iyung pasyente,” said Halili.
Dimson said medical officers should be provided with continuing education on patient care and its facets, especially in public hospitals.
“Dapat ay mabigyan sila ng continuous training and seminars about patient care, especially our hospitals have been renovated, upgraded at complete na ang facilities and equipment,” he said.
