Guard slain by riding-in-tandem gunmen

CAMP OLIVAS — A security guard was gunned down by two riding-in-tandem gunmen at St. Dominic Corinthian Sudivision, Barangay Dolores, City of San Fernando last Saturday.
A belated report here said Hernando Cabanilla, 57, security guard of JMP Twin Eagle Security Agency assigned at said subdivision, was shot to death by unidentified armed men while he was inside the guard house.

The victim’s wife, prior to his shooting, heard her husband ask someone, “Ano kailangan ninyo?”
The victim’s wife ran to the guard house after hearing the shots and found him bloodied, police said.
Witnesses, according to reports, said the suspects casually walked toward their motorcycle, parked several meters away from the guard house.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital but died while undergoing treatment due to gunshot wounds in his right temple and right cheek, the report said.
Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) recovered one deformed slug and two spent shells for .9mm caliber pistol at the crime scene.
The service .38 caliber revolver of the victim was also missing, believed to have been taken by the gunmen.
Police are still investigating the motive behind the incident. (Ric Sapnu)
