Pineda Inaugurates Pampanga Action Center

APALIT, Pampanga — Governor Lilia G. Pineda led local officials, police and military officials in the blessing and inauguration of the Philippine National Police/Armed Forces of the Philippines Action Center in this municipality.
The governor was accompanied by Brigadier General Gregorio Catapang, AFP Commander of the 7th-Infantry Division based at Fort Magsaysay in Nueva Ecija; Senior Superintendent R’win Pangkalinawan, Pampanga Provincial Police Office (PPPO) provincial police director, and some local officials in the province.
The construction of the PNP/APF defense action center was reportedly built through the joint initiative of the provincial government under Governor Pineda and municipal government headed by Apalit Mayor Oscar Tetangco.
Pineda cited the important task of combined police and military forces manning the exit door of Pampanga to Bulacan and Metro Manila. Law enforcers stationed at the new built action center here can support local authorities to provide security and maintain peace and order in the province.
The joint forces of the PNP and AFP will man the center which costs about P1.6 million. The funds for its construction came from the provincial government.
General Catapang said that the area where the action center is standing is a very strategic place in the prevention of crime and in keeping peace of Pampanga, as it is the door of the province.
He said the lady governor has continued to help and supported government troops in the performance of their duty in serving the country.
Aside from the construction of the new building, Governor Pineda also donated one Daewoo pick-up vehicle and two motorcycles to reinforce the capability of the action center.
Meanwhile, Supt. Homer Penecilla, the town chief of police, said the action center will serve as “defense and offense” in fighting criminality. It is really a big help, he said.
Penecilla said that Apalit is in the boundary of Pampanga and Bulacan.
