Political party to host 1st ‘Kapangan Festival’

MEXICO — The Liberal Party Team Pagbabago of this town led by mayoralty aspirant Albert Dela Cruz will host on December 16 the first ever “Kapangan Festival” at Amber Trail Resort and Residences in Barangay San Pablo.
Dela Cruz said thousands are expected to troop to the festival, which will showcase the best of the town’s cuisine and culinary experts led by Most Outstanding Kapampangan for Culture master chef Lillian Borromeo.
“The festival will start at 3 p.m. and will feature the best of Mexico, Pampanga’s culinary delights. We expect around 2,000 participants with various sectors showing their original cuisine which is native to this town,” Dela Cruz said.
He said Team Pagbabago — composed of Marvin Sonam, Maricel Lagman, Roger Bondoc, Salvador Mallari, Alfredo Briones, Ronnie Guevarra, Eduardo Vitangcul, Cris Musni, and April Delos Santos — conceived of the festival with livelihood projects for Mejicanos foremost in their minds.
“The eventual result we see is providing livelihood for the participants, especially in the food business. Team Pagbabago is presenting non-political options because our advocacy is development, reforms and change,” Dela Cruz told Sun.Star Pampanga.
He added: “Our vision and mission is anchored on our battle cry ‘Pagbabago Mexico.’ Our core advocacy is service and we offer ourselves to bring much needed reforms and changes. The team is not politically inclined; members are fresh faces from religious groups who are church-based. We found ourselves working together in various socio-civic missions for the past two years that is why we bonded together because we believe we could do more for Mexico as a team.”
He said “Kapangan Festival” is part of the team’s centerpiece platform, anchored on “womb to tomb” programs like health, education, infrastructure and essential services for the people of Mexico “who long for change through a new leadership.”
“Our battlecry is LP or ‘Lugud at Pamisasanmetung’ in Mexico. Our thrust is development and we are very optimistic that through this first ever ‘Kapangan Festival,’ we could bring hope and progressive lives for Mejicanos,” said Dela Cruz.
