Concept of the Clearwater Resort All-Night Outdoor Party

Participants arrive in Clearwater Resort about 30 to 60 minutes before sunset which in most months of the year would be around 5pm. After settling down and setting things up at the party site, participants are free to roam around the park, enjoy the ambience of the lake and beach areas as well as the various picnic grounds that define the laidback suburban lifestyle for which this popular resort in Clark Pampanga is so revered by event-organizers and residents of Manila.

Participants would have enjoyed a late afternoon snack on the bus en route to Clark. Dinner will commence around 7:30pm. There are several options for dinners. One of the most popular options is the semi self-cooked meal. With this option, participants each receive a packed meal consisting of rice, a topping and some vegetables. Ready-to-cook ingredients are prepared by the kitchen of the Clearwater Resort Garden Café for participants to grill either on open fire or on portable grill brought by the event organizers.

A morning snack is delivered for the custody of the event organizer who will distribute them for consumption by participants towards the end of the event.

After dinner, participants will engage in a variety of night-time activities. These activities can be organized by a consultant or by your own event leader. Noise level restrictions have to be observed as there are guests staying overnight in some of the cottages and cabins within Clearwater Resort.

The party ends at 5am and participants are required to ensure that the venue is clean before packing up to leave. The morning snacks will be distributed to participants for consumption on board the bus leaving Clark bound for home.

Clearwater Resort All-Night Outdoor Party Package

Venue is the camping grounds including the Campfire site. Night-usage rental fee for this venue is php40,000 which includes admission charges for 80 persons. Additional participants pay an extra php300/person for admission.

Dinner consisting of packed meal plus read-to-grill ingredients will cost php550 up. Beverages must be ordered in advance. As usual, safety and health considerations prohibit the bringing of food and beverage into the resort.

Security Deposit

A security deposit of php30,000 is required and will be liquidated against general violations such as failure to clean up before leaving, noise restriction violations and damages caused to the property.

Alcoholic Beverages

Alcohol beverages are not advisable but are permitted albeit in reasonable quantities only. When alcoholic beverages are to be consumed in an event, there must be at least two event organizers who must abstain from drinking throughout the event. Their jobs will be to prevent excessive drinking and prevent any untoward behavior caused by intoxication. Alcoholic beverages can also be ordered in advance. In this case, a separate security deposit of php15,000 is required which will be liquidated against penalty for disturbances and other violations of rules and policies caused by intoxication of participants.

Planning Programs at Clearwater Resort Campsite

Bathroom Facilities

Participants are entitled to use the bathroom and outdoor cleaning facilities at the Brunello Gardens just a few steps away from the party venue.

Event planners should consider checking into one of the Family Inn cabins for the purpose of allowing exhausted participants to sleep or rest. This same room can also serve as a place to store valuables. It can also be a first-aid center for the event.

The other alternative to this suggestion is to bring a few small tents to pitch at the venue, for more or less the same purpose.

Facilitator

All-night teambuilding events or parties are not difficult to manage as long as plans and preparations are done properly. If you are not very confident or very experienced in holding this sort of events, it might be wise to engage a facilitator.

The facilitator will charge you php2,000 for a planning session held in Manila a week prior to the event in your premises. During this two-hour session, the organizer and several representatives from the participants will be briefed on what to pack, the do’s and don’ts, safety and security concerns as well as to help fine tune the program for this event. Although a facilitator is optional, event planners are strongly advised to engage one at least for the planning session.

On-the-ground facilitating can be discussed with the facilitator during and after the planning session. Charges range from p300 to 500 per person although a flat fee can also be negotiated. Clearwater Resort has its own accredited facilitator if you need any assistance in engaging a qualified professional for this purpose.

Attire and Etiquette
Campers should be mindful of their presence in a private resort which is part of an exclusive country club. Even though casual clothing is permitted as is customary for camping, proper code of decency must be observed. Excessive noise and behaviors that would hamper the enjoyment of Clearwater’s ambience and facilities are strictly forbidden.

Management reserves the right to evict guests if violations persist after warning. No refund will be given under these circumstances.

Bring-in Food

Guests may bring in a reasonable quantity of cooked foods, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, subject to inspection upon arrival. Consumption is strictly limited to immediate area – within say 3 meters – of the camp site they rented. In other words, bring-in food and beverages cannot be consumed outside their individual camping areas.

Attire and Etiquette
Campers should be mindful of their presence in a private resort which is part of an exclusive country club. Even though casual clothing is permitted as is customary for camping, proper code of decency must be observed. Excessive noise and behaviors that would hamper the enjoyment of Clearwater’s ambience and facilities are strictly forbidden.

Management reserves the right to evict guests if violations persist after warning. No refund will be given under these circumstances.

Rotary offers free surgery to kids with heart ailment

MABALACAT — Officers of the Rotary Clubs belonging to the Rotary International District 3790 has announced its free surgery program open to children under 13 years old who are suffering from congenital heart disease.
Rotary Club of Mabalacat former president May Shilton told Sun.Star Pampanga that patients will be sent to India where the medical operation will be conducted under the program “Gift of Life”.
The Gift of Life Foundation, in cooperation with the Rotary International, has already sponsored more than 500 surgeries.
Shilton said they have so far sent three kids to India. These were Cyril Rivera on November 2011, Almira Madronio on February 20, 2012, and Jolina Pinlac on February 21, 2012.
She asked parents of children with heart problems, who are interested with the program, to coordinate with the Rotary Club of Mabalacat through mobile phone number 0929-393-6852 or e-mail addressmayshilton@yahoo.com.
“We will evaluate the patients first and if they are okay, then we will assist them secure travel documents so they can get a visa to India,” Shilton said.
The Rotary Club of Coimbatore Saicity in South India, who initiated the project, will accommodate the patients upon reaching the said country, according to Shilton.
She added the project will run until April 2012.
The Rotary International recently celebrated its 100 years and several program on health, shelter, livelihood, and others were line up in consonance with the celebration.

McDonalds foundation donates day-care center in Guagua

GUAGUA — The Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) turned over to local officials here Thursday its first Bahay Bulilit Day Care Center in Pampanga.
In coordination with the local government headed by Mayor Ricardo Rivera, the RMHC built the day-care center in Barangay San Jose here to reach out to children residing in said village and nearby Barangay Natividad.
Rivera, who thanked the RMHC officials led by RMHC Treasurer and McDonald’s Philippines executive vice president and Chief Finance Officer Romeo Bachoco, said the children will no longer have to cross the busy Olongapo-Gapan road to attend classes under the day-care program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
The mayor said several accidents involving kids crossing the main highway, particularly at the San Juan intersection, were reported by the town police.
“Ngayon po ay hindi na tatawid ng highway ang mga bata. Kaya tayo po ay nag decide na dito na sa San Jose gawin ang day-care center,” Rivera said.
He also said the local government is planning to establish a primary school near the day-care center.
“Since na naumpisahan na po ng McDonald’s itong project dito, magtatayo rin po tayo ng primary school kahit na grade 1 hanggang grade 2 lang muna para matulungan natin ang mga bata dito,” the mayor said.
Bachoco, for his part, said that one of the major programs of the RMHC is the Bahay Bulilit, which started during the time of Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as head of the DSWD.
He said they have partnered with the Department of Education and local government units in the implementation of the project.
As part of its corporate social responsibility, McDonald’s Philippines is committed to provide learning tools to children across the country, according to Bachoco.
He said the Guagua day-care center is the 22nd Bahay Bulilit in the country. The RMHC builds day-care centers in places where the national government fails to give its attention.
“RMHC aims to reach out to Filipino children around the country,” Bachoco said.
He expressed gratitude to the local officials, saying: “We are thrilled to have formed a strong partnership with the local government of Guagua that way to the completion of the first Bahay Bulilit in the province. The Municipal Government donated the lot where the structure was erected.
The municipal social welfare and development office, headed by Beth Ortiz, will handle the operation of the day-care center.

Vice mayor shaves off moustache for Sanduk fest

MINALIN — Mayor Arturo Naguit proudly presented Sunday a ‘moustache-less’ Vice Mayor Edgardo Yambao, who was dressed in a glittery black gown, as the main queen of the 2012 Sanduk Festival.
“For this year, our vice mayor has sacrificed his dear mustache, which he has not done since his teen years when he grew it, just to make the 2012 Sanduk Festival joyful and meaningful as the queen of the Aguman,” Naguit told thousands of Minaleños gathered at the town plaza after the float parade and street dancing.
It was a huge challenge, said Naguit — who also donned a dress last year as the festival queen — for Yambao to shave of his “symbolic” moustache Minaleños are familiar with. But the vice mayor said having done that made him prouder.
“Dressed as a woman and shaving off my moustache made me feel proud as a Minaleño. Carrying on the tradition of our ancestors and being queen of the Sanduk Festival is an unforgettable experience,” Yambao told Sun.Star Pampanga.
Naguit, who escorted Yambao, led this year’s parade of 11 floats, hundreds of street dancers and cross-dressed males who vied for the title “Reyna Ning Sanduk.”
“The Sanduk Festival is on its 81st year now. Nag umpisa ito noong may tag-tuyot sa bayan ng Minalin. Upang mapasaya ang mga babae at mga Minaleño, men decided to dress as women, kumuha ng sandok, nagluto at sama-samang kumain. From then on, it has become a tradition and the symbol of the strong spirit of the people of Minalin as well as the bounty that followed. The festival has also become a major tourist attraction, aside from our well known eggs and tilapia industries and our famous river cruise,” said Naguit.
Crowned 2012 “Reyna Ning Sanduk”, bagging the P30,000 cash price, was Rico Supremo, 43, from Barangay Sta. Rita.
Named best in the float parade was Barangay Sta. Rita, which took home the P10,000 cash prize, while dancers from Barangay Lourdes won the P10,000 cash prize in the street dance competition.
