The Human Resource and Management Office Department of the Province of Nueva Ecija spent 3 days and 2 nights in Clearwater for their HRM Seminar last November 7-9, 2014. This was attended by approximately 60 members of the department including the Department Heads, Directors, and Administrative Staff. The spacious and well equipped Brunello Function Room was perfect for their seminar. We even set-up a mini bar to spark up the event as requested by the participants.

MCS School Camping in Pampanga Clark Clearwater Resort

Parents are often compared to tigers to their cubs,naturally protective of their children, so allowing their children to go camping was a bit of a stretch for them. Luckily, MCS School chose Clearwater resort as their venue for their annual camping event.

Clearwater is considered by many to be a preferred destination for family vacation and retreat especially when there are young children in the group. Many regard Clearwater in Clark Freeport Zone to be a very child-friendly establishment.

With this said, MCS School held their annual camping event at the Brunello Gardens of Clearwater Resort in Clark free port Zone, Pampanga.For the said event, Brunello Gardens was the perfect camping site wherein the large acacia trees scattered throughout the picnic grounds provided enough shade, so the participants were able to sat comfortably and set up their colorful camping tents where they spent the night.

While participants were busy on their camping activities, organizers as well as the management made sure that their safety and well-being were monitored throughout the day.They were also able to enjoy the activities during night time without worrying for their safety and the security of their valuables.

Although many people see in camping a chance to get out of their daily routine and improve their survival skills, others would rather enjoy the many amenities that campsites such as Clearwater Resort are equipped with. Boasting of spacious areas to accommodate the participants, Clearwater provided an ambiance that was entirely relaxing and made all the activity plans come to life.Truly, students and camping facilitators had a wonderful time in Clearwater.

If memory serves, there had never been a serious attempt to rank and classify good restaurants in Clark Pampanga, despite the fact that Pampanga has always been lauded by Filipinos as a province of culinary excellence. All that was changed recently.

Synopsis

DOH assures assistance to ‘Maring’ flood victims

STO. TOMAS, Pampanga –The Department of Health (DOH) has assured Gov. Lilia Pineda that it will support all-out the flood victims in Pampanga, including evacuees in two hard-hit towns.

DOH Assistant Secretary Dr. Eric Tayag, who represented DOH Sec. Enrique Ona, visited Calumpit, Bulacan and Macabebe and Sto. Tomas towns in Pampanga on Saturday to check on actual situation of evacuees.

“We can’t just rely on reports. We have to see it so that we can ensure that their living condition is alright and no diseases will spread,” said Tayag, who was joined by DOH assistant secretary Dr. Jerry Bayugo in the visit to Pampanga.

Gov. Lilia Pineda welcomed the DOH officials and thanked Ona for ensuring support as at least 100 barangays in the province remained flooded as of Sunday.

Pineda and Ona spoke over the phone and the provincial government was promised of “steady supply of what it needs,” it was learned.
The DOH on Saturday deployed its P12-million mobile clinic to ensure the proper treatment of evacuees and avoid the spread of communicable diseases in evacuation centers.

Dr. Huberto Lapuz, head of the mobile bus equipped with laboratory, electrocardiograph (ECG), blood chemistry and x-ray machines, said he and at least 35 other personnel, including 10 doctors, could treat as much as 600 patients in one day. He is the director of the Dr. Paulino Garcia Memorial Research and Memorial Medical Center in Cabanatuan City.

Lapuz said the mobile clinic would allow them to “treat the patients better, faster and diagnosis will be reliable and accurate.”
Gov. Pineda and Vice Gov. Dennis Pineda joined the medical mission in Sto.Tomas and they distributed relief goods to at least 668 affected families in the said town.

Vice Gov. Pineda thanked the DOH “for their utmost concern to the welfare of our people, especially flood victims.”
He said they are planning to purchase a mobile bus similar to the DOH. The provincial government has prioritized health care service.
At least 40,000 people remained affected in Macabebe and more than 7,000 of whom are in at least 25 evacuation centers, said Mayor Annette Flores-Balgan.

DOH regional director, Dr. Leonita Gorgolon disclosed that they distributed P150,000 worth of medicines in Sto. Tomas. She said they had prepared for the effects of perennial floods in Pampanga and the six other provinces of Central Luzon as early as July.

Gorgolon said “the next few days, or a week, are crucial because we will already know if an epidemic has spread in an evacuation center.”
Globe sponsored a “lugao feeding” in Sto. Tomas, benefitting some 700 people, mostly children.

Lapuz’s team and the mobile clinic, donated by China two years ago, had just been used to treat some 600 seriously injured residents of Casiguran, Baler and nearby town in Aurora province. They were victims of the recent Typhoon Labuyo.

Drug suspect arrested in Macabebe

MACABEBE, Pampanga — A drug suspect was arrested by the local police in a buy bust operation in Barangay Sta. Rita, here, on Friday.
Chief Inspector John Lopez Clark, town’s police chief, identified the suspect as Lawrence Soriano, 32 years old, single, a resident of Barangay San Nicolas, Masantol town.

The arrest came after an informant told the police officers that the suspect was selling illegal drugs, particularly shabu, in Barangay Sta. Rita.
In an interview, Clark said he immediately formed a team which he led to conduct buy bust operation. SPO3 Jerry Malapit was tasked to act as poseur buyer.

The chief of police handed two P500 bills to Malapit, who was backed-up by PO3 Yockding Benson, Jr. and PO2 Lloyd Ganay.
“As the transaction was in progress and the asset, together with SPO3 Malapit, was able to buy shabu from the suspect, our operative signalled us by dropping a hand towel–indicating that the deal has been consummated–and he immediately introduced himself to the suspect as a police officer,” Clark narrated.

He said the suspect, upon knowing that he is under an anti-illegal drug operation, ran away and tried to flee, dropping a short .
“Upon seeing that the suspect ran away from the scene, the back-up personnel immediately joined and helped chase the suspect until he was cornered and apprehended,” Clark added.

He said the suspect was placed under arrest and, subsequently, a body search was conducted.
Confiscated from the possession and control of the suspect were two marked money; caliber .38 revolver pistol with five live ammunitions; and, small block pouch containing seven pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu.

The police chief said all pieces of evidence were brought to the Regional Crime Laboratory Office 3, at Camp Olivas in the City of San Fernando for laboratory and ballistic examination.

Tests yielded positive on methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu as per examination on the eight plastic sachets that contained the white crystalline substance.

On August 24, the suspect had undergone inquest proceeding at the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office under Assistant State Prosecutor Philip Tumala, who confirmed his detention.

No bail was recommended for the case under Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165. While, P200,000 and P60,000 bails were recommended for the cases under Section 11, Article II of RA 9165 and Presidential Decree 1866 as amended by RA 8294, respectively.
