8 robbers arrested in Angeles City

ANGELES CITY – Police authorities here on Saturday collared members of the notorious “Burnok Group,” allegedly involved in the series of robbery incidents in Central Luzon, in a rob try in Barangay Balibago.
The eight suspects were identified as Mark Anthony Elizalde alias “Jason”; Joshua Luntao alias “Buggy”; Solomon Diaz alias “Mon”; Abraham Desaca alias “Russel”; Cesar Baldonado; Cesar Baldonado Jr.; Jonas Alegria; and, Ronnie Morneo alias “Burnok,” believed to be the leader of the group.
The “Burnok Group” was also allegedly involved in gun-for-hire operations, according to police.
The group was neutralized by joint elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Regional Office 3, Pampanga Criminal Investigation Team and Angeles City Police.
Recovered from the suspects were four firearms, two grenades, one rifle grenade, bladed weapons and several cellphones.
According to CIDG Director Chief Supt. Francisco Uyami the robbers were behind the double homicide case in Mariveles, Bataan last July 14, 2012 and in the frustrated homicide case of ABS-CBN technical director Crisologo Pangan last February 25, 2012.

Clark firm reorganizes key offices

CLARK FREEPORT–The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) is currently undergoing organizational restructuring, officials of the state-owned firm announced yesterday.
The intention of restructuring was to align the organization towards the thrust of the CDC, which is to further enhance the corporation’s performance in addressing the needs of both local and international investors and locators inside this Freeport.
What used to be five groups are now merged to three, namely Administration and Finance Group, headed by Vice President Noel F. Manankil; Business Development and Enhancement Group led by Officer-in-Charge Mariza O. Mandocdoc; and Operations Group under the management of Vice President Franco Alejo L. Madlangbayan.
The office of the Vice President for Legal Affairs, which has long been vacant, will now be filled with the appointment of Atty. Vitaliano Aguirre.
Other personnel movement included the following:
• Evangeline G. Tejada as Assistant Vice-President for Marketing;
• Perlita M. Sagmit concurrent as Corporate Secretary and Manager for Marketing Services;
• Thelma C. Ocampo as Manager for Investments and Promotions;
• Rafael A.S. Galvez as Property Management Department Manager;
• Alveen H. Tabag as Special Resources Department Manager;
• Nunila L. Laluces as Community Extension and Services Office Manager; and
• Bonifacio O. Tarenio, Jr. as Human Resources Department Manager
Identified managerial and supervisory employees of executive offices, Marketing Department, Corporate Planning Department, Customer Services and Contracts Administration Office were also made to further strengthen the Business Development and Business Enhancement Group.
Teresito Tiotuyco, assistant vice president for security and technical services, was also appointed as concurrent Officer-in-Charge of Public Safety Department. Retired Col. Nick Targa was restored to his original appointment as Manager of Land Preservation Office.
The courtesy resignations of Philip Jose B. Panlilio as executive vice president and Ernesto Gorospe as vice president for Business Development Group were accepted by the CDC Board of Directors (BOD).
The BOD also approved all personnel movement in its meeting on February 22, 2013.
The abovementioned movements did not involve any promotion or giving of any increase in salary or remuneration or privilege as required by the Commission on Elections (Comelec). There is also no diminution in rank or salary involved.
The necessary Comelec exemptions from the election ban were secured for the personnel movements, which shall by subject for review on July 31, 2013. ●Marna Dagumboy-Del Rosario
