Sambo guns for vice mayoralty slot

MABALACAT — Marjorie Morales-Sambo on Friday revealed her intentions to run for the vice mayoralty post in 2013.
“It has been four years. Now, the wounds are healed, the family is okay and very happy with what is happening,” Sambo told the village chiefs of Mabalacat led by Dau village chief Atlas Morales.
“Again, my desire is to serve the people of Mabalacat and ibigay kung ano ang maganda para sa kanila through the legislative post if ever. I would admit the past was a painful experience where I learned a lot. Now, it is a time for peace, unity and harmony,” she said.
Sambo is the daughter of Mayor Marino Morales.
“Dad has since been very supportive. And like him, I would want to remain approachable as always. Hindi rin naman ako mahirap kausap katulad niya. In fact, he told me just the other day that he would open Mabalacat for me in my desire to serve. I am very happy about that, that is why I told the village chiefs and friends that if ever I make it in the legislative, I would make “lambing” to dad regarding their needs and concerns,” she said.
“Of course, I will complement what my dad is doing given the opportunity. I could probably follow Governor Lilia Pineda’s template on programs focusing on health, education, environment and all basic services plus in particular additional budgets for barangays. We could move forward for a better Mabalacat through unity and harmony,” she added.
Morales-Sambo, meanwhile, said she is exited to work with her dad.
“I do understand my dad has a ticket of his own. I would be running without a slate under PDP-Kambilan and I believe he would be with Lakas-Kambilan. We have a common point at the least. There is still much to happen before October this year and I just pray everything will work out for all of us, including my fellow candidates in next year’s polls,” she said.
